Our long awaited monthly newsletter service has finally begun! So much has been happening with The Mehadi Foundation and its staff that it is difficult to find a place to begin. First of all, our website has been updated. We've given it a great new look and made several small changes to the donation portal and contact list. You can also now access this and past editions of newsletters. It looks fantastic and it is really a wonderful tool for outreach so please, refer your friends to our web address.

Next, Mehadi's founder, Jeff Key, was recently married to the love of his life, Adam Nelson. It was a beautiful ceremony which took place on August 4th at a close friend's house in Altadena, CA. The couple asked that in lieu of gifts, donations be made to The Mehadi Foundation. We are still adding them all up but it looks to be a considerable amount of money. Thank you to all for your generosity.

On the weekend of August 30th, Mehadi Foundation staff attended a workshop in Santa Fe, NM to learn more about Peer-Counseling. The tools and methods learned in these workshops are a great way for our staff to better fulfill the mission statement of The Mehadi Foundation.

Last but not least, we must mention that Jeff Key was the subject of a recent feature-length documentary called "Semper Fi: One Marine's Journey." The film chronicles Jeff's life, the circumstances which led him to answer the call to military duty, and the humanitarian crisis of conscience that ultimately ended his service. The documentary premiered on Showtime on June 25 th and this summer it has competed in multiple film festivals across the nation winning "Best Documentary" in Breckenridge, Birmingham, and San Francisco. It will be airing again on Showtime Extreme throughout September. Click here for upcoming air dates. We will keep you informed of a DVD release.
